When I Was Young
Looking back when I was young
And the world was filled with sun
Didn’t worry about the next day.
Didn’t know if money was tight
So I slept well most every night
Didn’t know any other way.
When your folks still got along
Everyone knew right from wrong
Looking back that’s how it seems.
When your world was your friends
And the good times had no ends
And you still believed in dreams.
Chorus
The golden age was way back then
Just recall you were only 10
And you didn’t know the half of what was going on.
Maybe every year the same
We just give things a different name
As the world keeps on moving on.
When kids still played outdoors
And kids’ teams still kept scores
And we all seemed to turn out fine.
Kids roamed far and wide
Used experience as their guide
And no one lived online.
Always looks better in the past
When you didn’t pay the rent
Worry about how your time was spent
Didn’t know good times won’t last.
Chorus
