This is a straightforward electric blues song. I played in a blues band, inspired by Chicago electric blues, for a number of years. It was a really fun band, and a good one.

For this song, I wanted a live feel. I recorded each part straight through, with no edits of any individual sections, which is something I generally cannot do anyway.

While I have always liked playing the blues, I think blindness has given me a better understanding of the spirit behind it all. As I have noted elsewhere, I am conscious of being a middle-class, white guy playing blues, when this is not a style that originated in my part of the culture. But I play the blues to celebrate them, and to express my own feelings. I suspect every culture worldwide has a music genre similar to the blues.  It’s a style of music that expresses the hardships of yearnings, hopes and loves of everyday life!
