Heartland is another one of my instrumental songs. This one has a lot of pieces to it. There are densely layered guitars, kind of reminiscent of the band Queen, but a different kind of groove than that.

The title, Heartland, evokes the Midwest where I live, but also a certain set of emotions.

The song has a kind of roots optimism to it, a kind of sturdy gravity and, to me at least, a hopeful message.

In addition to the layered guitars, there’s organ, acoustic guitar, some other electrics, bass, and drums.

This song took a long time to put together and had a lot of false starts.  But in the end, it talks to me.

The song is available on all streaming services, and if you do not have a music service, you can access the song on YouTube: https://youtu.be/Iyi3B6qIuWE
