Sass
I’m up on the treadmill
Counting my steps
They say I’ve got to do this
Or I might drop dead
Doctor says, son, you need to lose some mass
Because you’re growing in the belly
And shrinking in the ass.
I can skip the candy
But I won’t skip the beer
Doctor wouldn’t like that
But the doctor isn’t here
I’ll treat this like everything in the past
With a little bit of yes, sir
And a whole lot of sass.
We are all on a treadmill
Stuck in our routine
Putting up with work
To earn a little green
Stuck in a maze
Like a pack of rats
Looking for love
And watching out for cats.
It could be worse
We all know that
And what we have to do
When we wear our working hat
Go to work like every day in the past
With a whole lot of yes, sir
And a little bit of sass.
And when it comes to music
I like the rock and roll
But it has to to have some roots
And it has to to have some soul
I’ll play the local bars
If they pay me cash
And if you want to boogie
You just have to ask.
I don’t want a water
I will take a beer
The doctor wouldn’t like that
But the doctor isn’t here
I’ll treat this like everything in the past
With a little bit of yes, sir
And a whole lot of sass.
I’ll treat this like everything in the past
With a little bit of yes, sir
Maybe a little more yes, sir
That’s enough yes, sir
And a whole lot of sass.
