I don’t always follow rule
But I know when they’re needed
When they articulate civil rights
You need them every day now and
A king and a joker who ignore the stormy weather
Are willing to do anything to take those rights away.

Rule of law
Where’s the rule of law?

White men are fearing
That the ground is shifting
And the people in the shadows have found the rights they sought
Billionaires are richer
And everyone else is paying
They don’t give a damn about the human cost.

So mock the poor
Those who pretend to be praying
They don’t understand
How souls are really lost
That DEI is the enemy
Is laughably absurd
And when they lie about the people
I don’t believe a word.

Rule of law
Where is the rule of law?

250 years ago
We threw away a king
We don’t want a monarchy
And we’re never going back
But the oligarchs
And the puppet autocrats
Disenfranchise the people and
Human rights that they attack.
