Going Nowhere Slow

I was walking outside
When the sky began to fall
There was no time to hide
Put my back against the wall
And I had to decide
What was the cause of it all.

I watched the colors fade
And the world turn to gray
My dog took me outside
And said it’s time to run away
Let’s have another round
Wait for another day.

Chorus

For 17 years
I was hanging around
We drank away our fears
And watched the whole world burn down.

Stars fell from the sky
Making quite a show
We could give it a try
But we were going nowhere slow.

I was walking outside
When the sky began to fall
It was bad luck
That was the cause of it all.
